Why Am I doing this?

In the book Efficient Love, Robert Goodman describes the typical romantic process we usually go through--which, for all intents is the process I've been going through from the time I reached the age where girls got to be very, very interesting. I'd just as soon stop repeating that process, but as Mark Twain observed, if I want to change what I'm getting, I need to change what I'm doing.

Here we go...

I'd much rather be a hopeful romantic, and I do think that is my basic nature. But I know approaching relationships in the same pattern as I've been doing so in the past, is going to keep me in the same place I am now--repeating the growth experience of yet another promising relationship that somehow went wrong. There has to be a better way to realize a happy, fulfilling, lasting relationship!

At the risk of appearing more pragmatic than romantic, I'm giving this a try. I hope you'll be willing to do so too. The bottom-line, nitty gritty, overall purpose of this method of introduction is to give you as honest and complete a view of me as possible. You can't tell if I'm the one for you if you don't know me, right? If you have the interest to read through all my pages here, my goal is for you to know more about me than you ever learned about any guy you ever dated by the fifth or sixth date. You usually had a pretty good idea where the relationship was going by the fifth or sixth date, didn't you? This should accomplish the same goal, in a much shorter length of time, and you don't even need to take off your fuzzy bunny slippers.

The way the site is constructed, I'll give you a quick look at me, and an opportunity for a closer look at some of the details. Next I'll explain a bit about what these list things are all about. Then, if you're still with me, I'll give you a more detailed look at me--sort of a one way heart to heart chat. I'll touch on some of the things I like, then I'll talk a little bit about my imaginary dream girl.
